Who are the people who benefit the most from this?
Coaching is an ideal supplement to the other things Faithful and True offers. In our ministry it works especially well for three kinds of people:
1. People who have attended an event such as a Men’s Workshop or Couples Intensive, and want to implement the life-changes talked about there. It’s one thing to get energized by the new information and positive support of a workshop, but it’s quite another to apply these insights to daily life, and to make changes stick in the inevitable ups and downs that follow. You need coaching to make the workshop the start of a new life.
2. People who want access to the support and insights of Faithful and True Ministries, but don’t live within driving distance to make group or counseling attendance possible. Coach Mark Brouwer has been mentored by Dr. Mark Laaser, and provides recoving coaching under his supervision. Coaching in this situation works in partnership with therapy (if needed) or group involvement in your local area.
3. People who have made a good start in their recovery, established a period of sobriety, and made significant progress in working through issues from their past, and who now are ready to put significant focus on developing and living out their personal vision. As anyone who’s attended our workshop or been to our groups will attest, we emphasize that recovery involves positive as well as negative energy. It’s not just about stopping certain behaviors, it’s about filling our lives with positive activities, relationships, and contributions that bring fulfillment and joy. Recovery coaching helps you build a solid recovery by developing those positive directions in life that you can build on.
